As a rule, we are always in need of first aid supplies. Some people just send and we sort here for usability.
All of the following are needed in large quantities:
(Clinic packs, such as those provided by NorthWest Medical Teams in Portland, Oregon, contain much of these needed supplies along the hand disposable items. Those packs have had to be bought in the past from them, and shipping expense must be covered, but they packs contain a lot and are very tightly packed together for minimum bulk. Much of the work here is just huge quantities of the most basic first aid.
There are also a number of plastic surgery reconstructive projects usually involving the hand damaged by burns.
We are also in need of a volunteer doctor who can help us set up a clinic for the first time.
For this we will need medical equipment such as an autoclave, trays, table, lights, hand instruments.
We need some battery otoscopes for in the field.
I will improve on this list when I can get more information from a doctor
as to what they feel they would need on an equipment list for this effort.
Our dream is to have a mobile clinic as soon as budget, 4x4 vehicle and
personell will allow. But first the one here at the building in Maesai.
In areas where we know there are a lot of Akhas, which have a clinic, we try to assist that clinic with supplies or equipment to help them do that job better, rather than try to replace them with our own services.
